Credit Recovery & Homework Help Program - Camp Cedar Ridge: Vernonia, Oregon

The academic wellness of the Vernonia students is incredibly important to us. We are committed to doing all that we can in support of their success. We understand that for various reasons, a student will find themselves off track in their day time curriculum. Therefore, we are expanding our Vernonia Village resources to include both credit recovery assistance to our high school students as well as homework help to grades 6, 7 and 8. Students must register and have parental consent but are not required to attend any other Vernonia Village activities.

We will have one hour Monday-Thursday where our select staff will work with students on an individual basis but in small group settings. We will review the areas of concern, communicate with school-day teachers to identify any additional needs and create a plan that will get your students moving in the right direction! Once we have an accurate understanding, your child will be able to attend as often as all four days per week and can vary based on specific needs. During this time they will have support in understanding the material, recovering missing assignments, obtaining available extra credit and guidance on executing their recovery plan. Additionally, we will address how to stay on top of current classroom requirements and incorporate fun learning games and activities! Staying on track early, will ensure a brighter future for students moving toward secondary or continued education. We want them to go into their next chapter with more confidence and additional skills to manage their curriculum workload.

Credit Recovery and Homework Help will be open Monday-Thursday 3:00-4:30 which includes a provided snack to all participants. If the student/parents do not wish to attend any of our regular Vernonia Village activities, then parent pick up will be at 4:30. Parents may provide written consent for their child to check out and walk home; otherwise we must have parents or another authorized person sign them out. Our evening buses run at 5:20, so students who may need bussing, please include that so we can make accommodations.
